Snapchat Ads

Saudi Arabia has among the highest Snapchat penetration in the world. Most brands still treat it as an afterthought.

If you sell to consumers in Saudi Arabia and Snapchat is not in your media plan, you are ignoring one of the largest concentrations of daily attention in the market.

Snapchat’s global narrative and its Gulf reality are very different things. Outside the region it is often written off; inside Saudi Arabia it has penetration and daily usage that few platforms anywhere match. The practical consequence for advertisers is unusual: meaningful reach with noticeably less competition for it than Meta, because a lot of media planning is still done from templates written for other markets.

What the work covers

  • Snap Pixel and Conversions API implementation
  • Campaign structure by objective and funnel stage
  • Audience strategy: Saudi, UAE and Egypt segmented properly rather than lumped as “MENA”
  • Creative direction for full-screen vertical video
  • AR lenses and filters where the product suits them
  • Story Ads, Collection Ads and Dynamic Ads for catalogue businesses
  • Creator collaborations and Snap Star partnerships
  • Arabic creative written in the right dialect for the target market
  • Measurement reconciled against your own back end
  • Budget pacing around Ramadan, Eid and national holidays

Why it is undervalued

Gulf penetration is exceptional

Saudi Arabia consistently ranks among the highest Snapchat usage rates globally. Daily time-in-app there behaves nothing like the global average.

Less competition for the same eyes

Because many regional media plans are copied from Western templates, auction pressure is frequently lower than on Meta for a comparable audience.

AR is a real format here, not a gimmick

Try-on lenses for beauty, eyewear and fashion produce measurable results in this market rather than novelty impressions.

Creator ecosystem is mature

Saudi Snapchat creators hold genuine commercial influence, and creator-led paid outperforms polished brand assets consistently.

Honest limits

  • Reporting and audience tooling are less sophisticated than Meta’s. Plan for that rather than being surprised by it.
  • Outside the Gulf, including much of Egypt, the case is considerably weaker.
  • It is a consumer channel. B2B works only in narrow circumstances.
  • Creative has to be made for the platform. Repurposed assets perform badly here, as they do on TikTok.

Frequently asked

Is Snapchat worth it outside Saudi Arabia?

In the UAE, often yes for consumer brands. In Egypt it is usually a secondary channel behind Meta and TikTok. Saudi Arabia is where the case is strongest by a wide margin, and where I would test first.

What kinds of business perform well?

Beauty, fashion, food and beverage, retail, entertainment, restaurants, events, and app installs. Anything with a visual product and a consumer audience in the Gulf is worth at least a structured test.

Do we need AR lenses?

Not to start. Standard video is where to test the channel. Lenses are worth the production cost once you have proof that the audience converts, and they suit try-on categories best.

How does it compare to TikTok?

They complement each other more than they compete. Snapchat skews toward established Gulf audiences and private sharing; TikTok toward discovery and broader reach. Most consumer brands in Saudi should be on both, and the split is a budget question rather than an either/or.
